Let's see if I can keep a track of the films I've seen...
2020
Title | Review |
---|---|
Marriage Story | Sad reflection on modern marriage - excellent performances |
Little Women | Being ignorant of the original text, I found following the timeline of this film a little difficult to start with. Once I fell in with the visual clues to the time period, the full beauty of this film became apparent. A story of great joy and sadness with outstanding performances by Florance Pugh, Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet and Meryl Streep. |
Le Mans '66 | A predictable story arc. Exhilarating driving sequences especially in the wet weather scenes. Whilst the acting was fine, the strong northern accents, although appropriate, were a little strange to the ear sometimes. |
Knives Out | Star-studded quirky who-dun-it film. I thought there were going to be more twists to the story. Not sure about Daniel Craig's accent. |
The Personal History Of David Copperfield | A charming film. The star-studded cast were obviously enjoying the opportunity to play these richly defined characters. The film runs at a fair pace to pack in the whole story arc within a reasonable playing time. |
1917 | Booked, not seen yet |
